The Funeral of Maj. Andrew Olmsted
Maj. Andrew Olmsted was killed in Iraq on Jan. 3, the first casualty of the war in 2008. Based at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, his funeral was held there Tuesday. Olmsted's unit was sent last summer to Iraq to help train its army. He wrote a blog from the front lines for the Rocky Mountain News. True to form, he had a posting ready to go in the event of his death.
