Rick Henderson

Rick Henderson, Editorial Writer I'm a North Carolina native and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Go Heels!) with a degree in political science. My first paying job in journalism was with Reason magazine, where I spent nine years -- five of them in Washington, D.C. After that I worked on the opinion pages of daily newspapers in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Riverside, Calif. Denver is an ideal place to write about politics and current events because the state Capitol and the city office buildings are just a few blocks apart. I truly enjoy the immediacy of daily journalism and agree with Mark Twain that, for editorial pages anyway: "A newspaper is not just for reporting the news, it’s to get people mad enough to do something about it."
