BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — The University of Vermont men's hockey team is continuing to move up in the national rankings, with USA Today putting the team at seventh in the country, up from 10th a week ago.

Other polls also are ranking the Catamounts higher. Among them is the U.S. College Hockey Organization/CBS College Sports Poll, which has boosted Vermont from 12th in the nation to eighth in its latest ranking.

Meanwhile, the Catamounts' senior captain Dean Strong was named Hockey East Player of the Week.
