Denver freshman Kaetlyn Murdoch had 13 blocked shots and the Pioneers tied an NCAA record with 19 blocks as they beat Arkansas State 64-63 in women's college basketball Wednesday night.
Murdoch becomes the sixth player in NCAA history to finish with 13 blocks in a game, ranking her tied for fourth all-time on the most blocks per game list.
DU's 19 blocked shots tied an NCAA team record that was set by New Orleans on Feb. 13, 1990, against Western Kentucky, and tied Jan. 16, 2006 by TCU vs. UAB.
“She was unbelievable,” said Denver coach Erik Johnson. “She threw a block party tonight. We are calling her the human eraser because she just went in there and blocked everything that came her way.”
