The Avalanche on Tuesday placed defenseman Adam Foote on injured reserve because of a triceps injury.
His time on IR is retroactive to Jan. 4.
The team replaced Foote on the roster with forward Philippe Dupuis, whom the Avs recalled from the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League. Dupuis will be available to play Monday night in the Avs' game at Nashville.
Dupuis, 23, was recalled by the Avalanche on Dec. 11 and appeared in three games -- he scored no points -- before being reassigned to Lake Erie on Dec. 16. He made his NHL debut on Dec. 12 vs. Chicago.
