A coal train derailed in Otero County on Thursday morning, blocking a county road and closing a state highway for half the day.
The Burlington Northern Santa Fe coal train was traveling east on the tracks at 7:29 a.m. when 39 cars derailed just east of the town of Manzanola, about 45 miles east of Pueblo.
No one was injured, the State Patrol said.
Several cars and a large amount of coal blocked County Road 811.
Colorado 207, which runs from Manzanola to Colorado 96, was closed until 1:30 p.m.
The track remained closed.
Heavy equipment from three states has been brought in to repair the tracks and clean up the debris, the patrol said.
