A fellow Coloradan, Senator-elect Mark Udall, will be on the committee that considers Sen. Ken Salazar's confirmation to become Interior secretary.
Udall has been named to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, which is scheduled to give Cabinet-nominee Salazar a grilling on Jan. 15. Udall also will serve on the Senate Armed Services Committee. The committee seats for Udall mirror the assignments he had in the House of Representatives, where he also served on committees overseeing natural resources and armed services.
In other news, Udall has tapped Mike Sozan, now legislative director to Sen. Jim Webb, D-Va., to become his Senate chief of staff, Udall spokeswoman Tara Trujillo said.
