In the pink

Because Rach says so

In the October issue of Everyday With Rachael Ray, Rach gives a thumbs up to Denver in the Yum column. The item called ZIP IT 80202, by Megan McMorris, taps into the upcoming Great American Beer Festival. It also has a See: the Pikes Peak Cog Railway; Eat: Lola, 1575 Boulder St.; and Tour: Wynkoop Brewery, 1634 18th St. Tours are 1 to 5 p.m. Saturdays. Who knew?

Easy doughs it

If it's your turn to bring treats to soccer practice, score a goal with these "homemade" cookies. Ice Box Bakery, co-owned by pastry chefs Jennifer Bush and Allison Patterson (wife of Frasca chef Lachlan McKinnon Patterson), has introduced its All Natural Cookie Dough in a refrigerated roll. In 10 minutes, the dough bakes up buttery treats that dissolve in your mouth. Or, you could just nibble on the dough. Moms will love how the dough is made with only the real stuff, including butter. Our favorite, no surprise, is chocolate chip, but the sugar, peanut butter and dried cherry oatmeal versions are equally delicious, $4.99 a tube, in the refrigerator case at Whole Foods Markets; icebox bakery.com.
