AIR FORCE ACADEMY Service- academy rival Navy will bring a 3-2 record into Falcon Stadium for Saturday's Commander-in-Chief's showdown against Air Force.
The Midshipmen are coming off wins against Rutgers and No. 16 Wake Forest after starting 1-2.
Navy's losses came to Ball State, now 4-0, and Duke, which is 3-1.
"I think they were playing pretty good football," Air Force coach Troy Calhoun said when asked about Navy's slow start. "They played some pretty good teams. Anytime you can beat Rutgers and Wake Forest, it is an excellent squad."
Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo downplayed the Navy turnaround.
"It is never as good as it looks, and it is never as bad as it looks," Niumatalolo said. "We just had to keep going. I knew we weren't far off. On the other hand, we know it could go back the other way, too. We just have to continue to progress and try to get better."
