A 31-year-old mother was charged today with sexual assault on her 2-year-old son.
Alicia Lee of Denver took photos of herself performing oral sex on her child and then e-mailed them to a friend in April, according to an arrest affidavit.
The e-mails were forwarded to the child's father by a friend July 31. The father reported it to police.
In an April 4 message, Lee wrote to her friend, "Did I tell you about my fantacy (sic) about the baby? It is weird but at times when I change his diaper I think of taking it into my mouth to see his reaction."
In a message the next day, she wrote, "DID IT!!././.He giggled a lot. I think it tickled him. I will try again tomorrow. I think if I do it enough he will get use (sic) to it."
Lee's husband said he confronted his wife about the photos Aug. 1 and she agreed to go to counseling and get help.
Police attempted to question her about the allegations Aug. 7 and the child was placed in foster care, the affidavit said. Police obtained copies of the e-mails and Lee was arrested Sept. 12.
Lee is charged with sexual assault on a child, sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust and aggravated incest.
The case also has been referred to federal authorities for review on possible additional charges of sending child pornography, said Lynn Kimbrough, spokeswoman for the Denver district attorney's office.
Lee is free on $50,000 bond and due in court Monday for formal advisement on the charges.

I'll bet he confronted his wife! I'd be on the phone with a divorce lawyer about 2 seconds after that conversation.

This is pretty sad. No one in their right mind would do this. You'd like to think the child will never know about this, but at some point down the road, he's going to be asking why his mommy left him or doesn't love him. What make believe reason is he going to be told? The truth would be too much, and what good would it do down the road anyway? Better to have one lie/story and stick to it. Or put him up for adoption.
The mother won't be on parole or probation the rest of her life, so at some point, assuming she still wants to, she will have custody (joint or otherwise) unless her parental rights are terminated via a dependency and neglect case. That will not prevent her from having more kids, unless a court order is placed against her. But, if she completes a treatment program and does her time, that will be hard to enforce.
Really sad overall though. What issues in the mother's life enabled her to cross that boundary?

I hope that this brings the issue of child abuse to everyones mind. We tend to forget the little ones when Washington takes center stage. So many times kids are left in these homes because of lack of funding!! Only when something this sad or death is reported does something happen. If this had not been in the paper this poor boy would mostly likely end back in the care of his mother. Child abuse needs to be more important than "Partisan politics" (sensible) and the crimes need to be very harsh. Abuse is a cycle and can be broken if we make this issue a priority. I have seen first hand how abuse can destroy the very soul of a child and make him/her the killer of tomorrow.

Hope the father filed divorce papers immediately. She should have the words "incestuous child molester" tatooed on her forehead so that everyone knows this sick thing for what she is the minute they see her. Sterilization should be mandatory and she should never be allowed anywhere near children as long as she lives!

I think that the most suitable punishment for this Waste of Human Genetic Material would be to have it caged in any of the following prisons, Mexican, Turkish, Saudi, Iranian or Phillippino. There are a number of other countries that I did not mention that could give this "thing" an appropriate "rehabilitation", but you get the idea.
Also, what is the POS judge that ONLY gave this thing a $50,000 bail!? At this point the robed prostitute (judge) should be flogged.

How is it that this sickness went on behind closed doors for 4 months without detection? If the friend received the e-mail in April why did this person not share this information sooner??? Who was this friend that she e-mailed and why were they exchanging these type of e-mails to begin with? Apparently this person must have been encouraging this type of behavior that made the mother of this child feel free enough to share this dirty deed along with photos of this sickness. So what the friend told the dad? How long did the dad know before alerting authorities? Obviously the dad didn't care about the safety of his son if all he did was ask her to get help!! The poor baby and the irreprible damage to this poor childs life!!! Even if he doesn't totally recall this trama he will still be effected in regards to his own sexuality, his relationships due to the distortin this impressed upon his little self. Not to mention the possiblioty of the abused become the abuser later in life. I would hope that this scum of the earth will reap the consequenses of her action in body mind and soul. The child protection services that si another story. 1 in ten children are abused whether mentally, verbally, sexually and physically talk about grim statistics. It kills me to see that we as a society do not have a better grasp on what should be a requirement to have children. Any scum of the earth can be a parent and what is worse they bring these innocent children into this world and then make them have to live through some horrific, unimaginable stuff that they have no control over. It is not the childrens fault. They did not ask to be born into a psychos world let alone to have to live, endure and survive it!! Come on people lets do something about this!!!

Although this is a very sad situation. She did do something that is beyond my scope of understanding. We have to keep in mind the child. Attacking dad is not the answer. He called the police. This article doesn't tell us everything. Not saying that I know anything more than what this article tells me, but knowing the department of social services they move really slow when action needs to take place and very quickly on the innocent. Maybe sending the child to foster care was not an option. When a child is removed from the home they usually go to foster care until the Department of Social Services can sort things out. Maybe dad has custody of the child now after spending time is court rooms. When going through the courts things move slowly. This is a woman that clearly made a very bad decision (no change that - stupid) and has lost everything because of it. Who ever this friend is must have encouraged this behavior and I have the feeling that it landed in several emails before it made it to dad. I pray and hope that because this child is so young that this will have minimal impact on his life. Who ever raises this child should seek counseling and pray.
