It's time to live dangerously. Pack up the family, grab the wallet and head out for an untamed and hair-raising adventure - complete with fall sales.
* This weekend, shopping combines with adventure as Your Kids Closet and The Wildlife Experience in Parker host their huge semi-annual sale event.
Thousands of nearly new infant, children's and maternity items pack the museum, along with many other bargain-priced items, including toys, Halloween costumes, ski wear and equipment. And the big bonus? The museum grants shopping families free admission to its interactive and educational nature experience.
The sale runs from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 8 p.m. Monday. 10035 S. Peoria St., 303-956-2217, yourkidscloset.com.
* For a spooky family experience, check out Leo's Garage from noon to 7 p.m. today, where various vendors are showcasing handcrafted Halloween goods and vintage items. Stock up on this year's creepy decor, and enjoy hot soup and chili. This is the third year for the event, which includes activities for the kids. 1563 S. Pearl St., 303-618-3669.
* If you're looking to redesign, but without the ghoulish theme, stop by Home Decorator Fabrics' fall sale, going on now through Sept. 27. Save with 20 percent off prices storewide on in-stock fabrics, trims, pillow forms, drapery hardware and special-order fabrics. 8230 S. Colorado Blvd., Centennial, 303-779-2573.
* Add a touch of the Orient to your bedroom at Chopa Zen Home and Gift, which has launched a half-price inventory-reduction sale on its Tatami Platform beds. The event runs through September, while supplies last.
Prices are: full size, $225; queen size, $255; California king size, $295. Price includes frames only; mats are available online. The Internet business has a Centennial warehouse for pickups. Order at 303-786-8108 or chopa.com.
* If you want something a little more risque than a kimono to wear with that new bed, check out the sale at Pampered Passions Fine Lingerie. You'll find Wacoal, Arianne, Chantelle, Cosabella, Hanky Panky, Spanx, Claire Pettibone, Sassybax and more at 30 percent to 70 percent off.
The sale runs through Sept. 28. 9615-D E. County Line Road, Englewood, 303-346-8450.
* Don't miss the Porter Thrift Shop Bag Sale on Monday and Tuesday. Everything you can fit inside a grocery bag is yours for $3 plus tax. Browse clothes, shoes, books and household items from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Proceeds support Porter Hospital projects. 2379 S. Downing St., 303-744-3491.
