Top five: TAT

You won't find the kids in TAT examining the tops of their sneakers onstage. To the contrary, you'll be lucky if you come out unbruised - Tatiana DeMaria (vocals, guitars) and her bandmates Nick Kent (bass, vocals) and Jake Reed (drums, vocals) eschew murmur in favor of yell, serving up pinpoint pop-punk with an extra helping of attitude.

Traveling our country with musical cousins Lagwagon and MxPx, and following a successful stint on this summer's Warped Tour, the U.K.-based threesome has had plenty of time to contemplate the advantages of playing punk rock in America vs. their homeland. So read on for the Top 5 Reasons TAT Likes to be a UK Band Playing in the U.S (courtesy of DeMaria):

1 It's a bigger country so we can tour for months, which is a lot of fun.

2 People dig our accents.

3 We have people to brush our teeth for us out here.

4 We don't have any health care - so life is that much more exciting and we're living on the edge.

5 And we're rich as (expletive) because we have the pound vs. the dollar.

TAT will play Thursday at the Ogden Theatre with Lagwagon, MxPx and Only Crime. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., tickets are $20. Call 303-830-8497 for ticket information.
