Obama's Invesco move highly responsible

Dr. Harold Magoun's recent letter to the Rocky Mountain News criticized Barack Obama for spending $3 million in campaign money to give his acceptance speech at Invesco Field. He called it "fiscally irresponsible."
It is obvious that Magoun does not have his doctorate in economics or media.
At 38 million viewers, the cost per 1,000 reached at $3 million is a tremendous value. Any corporation, media buyer or advertising agency seeking effectiveness in advertising would jump at that opportunity.
Barack Obama had 45 minutes of air time, not a 30-second spot. I hope he will bring that type of fiscal responsibility, effectiveness and value to many government agencies.

Was this $3 million in excess of what it would have cost to have it at the Pepsi Center?
Because I doubt you are getting your money's worth if he payed $3 million above and beyond his Pepsi Center costs. He only crammed an extra 50,000 into the actual arena, and people would have watched the address regardless of where it was held.
Obama's understanding of economics should scare everybody more than this letter writer's inquiry into the world of marketing, err...political campaigning.

And as further evidence of his irresponsibility, he raised $11 million on Monday. He could have been doing something useful like giving out soup in a soup kitchen, incognito, but no, he had to sell out to Babs and company. This proves he has no understanding of economics. Oh yeah, it also proves he's "out of touch." That's the ticket - he's "out of touch" ... yeah....

The the stock market fell over 500 points because of the huge bailouts of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (Democratic strongholds) and Obama did 2 things. He criticized McCain's lack of an economic plan and knowledge of one (though Obama doesn't have one either) and while proclaiming he feels the pain of American's and especially the middle class workers, he jetted off to a $2,500 a plate dinner so he could raise $11 million dollars in one night. I guess that's Obama's way of showing the American people he feels there pain because look at how some people had to pay $2,500 for a plate of food. Food prices are high indeed.

Sheik,
How does begging for money give you a better understanding of economics?

Fisherman - who was "begging?" Obama was using the time-honored method that Reagan, Bush, McCain, Romney etc use all the time. Are they beggars?

vudumom,
The stock matket fell 500 points because of greedy speculators and deregulation gurus like R.Reagan, and more recently, John "Mr Change" Mccain, Phil Gramm and other equally guilty neo-cons, as they've treated American taxpayers like sugar daddies.
Fun time's over.
Too bad you Repiglicans couldn't have postponed the inevitable 'till after the election, so people like you could blame President Obama.
I'm SO sorry.
