Denver hotelier to depart for Chicago

John Schafer, a fixture in Denver's hotel and tourism sector for almost two decades, will leave his top post at the Hyatt Regency for a similar role in Chicago.
Schafer will take over soon in the senior position at Chicago's Hyatt Regency, a 2,000-room hotel that is the largest in the Chicago-based chain. His official title: vice president and managing director.
Schafer said he worked at the Chicago hotel more than two decades ago as the front-desk manager before rising through the ranks of the Hyatt chain, working in nine different cities
