Air Force report: Falcons not satisfied

Anybody looking at the numbers would have to say Air Force is off to a good start.
The Falcons are 2-0, ranked fifth nationally in total defense (173 yards per game) and are third in the nation in rushing (347 yards per game).
However, coach Troy Calhoun doesn't put much stock in statistics.
"We have to play better," he said. "Statistically, you might say, 'What?' When you look at it we have to do a much better job and that's across the board."
Calhoun can't single out one particular area that needs to improve.
"There's no one way to win a game at the Air Force Academy," he said. "There's no single formula. That's year in-year out, that's week in-week out, that's game by game, we have to be the most resourceful team in the country.
"I think that's moxie, I think that's guts, I think that's heart, I think that's being a little bit creative without getting cute. I mean that's us at the Air Force Academy."
COUGARS VIEW
Houston coach Kevin Sumlin doesn't believe there will be any game-plan surprises when the Cougars meet the Falcons on Saturday, which is expected to be a rainy afternoon in Dallas.
"The stat that jumps out at you is that they (Air Force) lead the country in time of possession," Sumlin said. "They have the ball 38:25 of every game, so there isn't any doubt to what both teams' game plan is going to be.
"They are hoping it can be the worst conditions possible for the game and they can hold the ball for as long as they want and we want to score points. This is going to be a game of styles, being disciplined, making plays and doing what you are supposed to be doing."
