A California tribal leader fell and lost consciousness during a fight with three Denver strip club security guards and died two days later, police said Thursday.
Gabriel Pico, 41, had attended the Democratic National Convention as a guest days before the 1:45 a.m. Saturday confrontation outside the Diamond Cabaret at 1222 Glenarm Place. He was taken by ambulance to Denver Health Medical Center where he died two days later.
An initial police report characterized the clash as felony aggravated assault and described the unnamed security guards as "suspects" who used "bodily force" against Pico.
"The investigation revealed that the victim and the . . . suspects were involved in a physical altercation," the police report said. "During the altercation the victim fell on the ground and lost consciousness."
Officials declined to comment Thursday at the Diamond Cabaret's parent company, Lakewood-based VCG Holding Corp.

Now those guys (cabaret bouncers) are real heroes! Three to one. Good odds for anyone. Do you suppose he "fell to the ground" after sustaining several heavy blows to his head?

a friend of mine was there that night. she said that the guy was trying to fight another guy and the bouncer threw the guy down and was on his back choking the guy out. she said she thinks the bouncer killed him when he choked the guy out. she said it was a weird deal. the police didnt try and help the indian guy until about 10-15 minutes after they got there. it was like they were trying to help the bouncers figure out what was going on.

Thank you littlehoney for posting the truth. He was murdered. No CPR for that long makes you wonder why they didn't help him.
