The Cowboys lost six of their final seven games last season to finish with a 5-7 record, and there's no question in coach Joe Glenn's mind the 20-12 loss to Air Force was a big part of the season-ending slide.
The Cowboys took a 4-2 record into Falcon Stadium but turned over the ball five times in suffering their second straight loss, and Wyoming is looking to avenge the setback when the teams meet Saturday in the Mountain West Conference opener.
"We lost a heartbreaker down there last year," Glenn said. "They went on and had a terrific year and that game was really a turnaround game for us. It was a stake in the heart. It was a bitter, bitter loss for Wyoming.
"Some crazy things happened in that game that you try to figure out, and I still can't figure out. I just hope we have a chance to redeem ourselves a little bit here in Laramie. They came here two years ago and beat us on our home field. We've got to get it going Saturday."
