Air Force players celebrate a fourth-quarter touchdown against Wyoming in last year's game at Falcon Stadium. The teams meet Saturday in Laramie, and the Falcons will try to beat the Cowboys for the third consecutive time, something that never has been done in the history of the series.

Air Force at Wyoming

* The game: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jonah Field at War Memorial Stadium (32,500 capacity), Laramie.

* The records: Air Force is 1-0; Wyoming is 1-0.

* The series: Air Force leads 23-20-3.

* TV/radio: CBS C; KVOR-AM (740) in Colorado Springs, KCKK-AM (1510) in Denver.

* Who's favored: Wyoming by 3.

* Injury update: Air Force - TE Travis Dekker (fractured ankle) and NG Jared Marvin (knee) are out. Wyoming - LB Jimmy DeAndrea (fractured thumb), C Travis Hillen (dislocated shoulder), LB Mark Oliver (Achilles' strain), WR Brandon Stewart (shoulder) and LB Bryson Studricka (toe) are out.

* Scouting report: Air Force's offense needs to execute well against a tough Wyoming defense, and the Cowboys offense needs to avoid turning over the ball five times like in last year's loss to the Falcons.

* Stat that matters: Only twice in 46 previous meetings between the schools has a team managed to win three consecutive games. Air Force won in 2006 and 2007.

Eastern Washington at Colorado

* The game: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Folsom Field (53,750 capacity), Boulder.

* The records: CU is 1-0; Eastern Washington is 0-1.

* The series: First meeting.

* TV/radio: No TV; KOA-AM (850).

* Who's favored: No line.

* Injury update: CU - CB Jimmy Smith (back) is out; CB Anthony Wright (ankle) is questionable; G Devin Head is serving a one-game suspension for an undisclosed violation of team rules. Eastern Washington - NT Shawn Powell (knee) and CB Taiwan Jones (broken fibula) are out; RB Alexis Alexander (knee) is probable.

* Scouting report: The Buffaloes secondary expects a workout from Eagles QB Matt Nichols, who attempted 61 passes last week against Texas Tech. CU has been in "clean-up" mode this week, trying to eliminate a handful of first-game false starts and other mental mistakes. The Buffaloes were penalized eight times for 58 yards.

* Stat that matters: CU held Colorado State to 258 yards, the fewest CU has allowed in an opener since 1998.

Sacramento State at Colorado State

* The game: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium (34,400 capacity), Fort Collins.

* The records: Sacramento State is 1-0; CSU is 0-1.

* The series: First meeting.

* TV/radio: No television; KLZ-AM (560).

* Who's favored: No line.

* Injury update: CSU - K Jason Smith (broken arm) and S Amadeus Waters (knee) are out. Sacramento State - None reported.

* Scouting report: The Rams must shore up their special-teams play, establish a physical dominance, protect the quarterback and tackle well to get their first victory.

* Stat that matters: Colorado State has won 10 consecutive games against Football Championship Subdivision (formerly Division I-AA) teams since a 37-34 loss to Idaho on Sept. 12, 1992.

Northern Colorado at Purdue

* The game: 10 a.m. MDT Saturday, Ross-Ade Stadium (62,500 capacity), West Lafayette, Ind.

* The records: Opener for both.

* The series: First meeting.

* TV/radio: Big Ten Network; KFKA-AM (1310) in Greeley, KRKS-AM (990) in Denver.

* Scouting report: The Bears open their 96th season against a strong Big Ten Conference opponent. Northern Colorado has lost 22 of its past 23 road games, including the past 10 in a row, and suffered a 66-6 loss last year when it faced another Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly Division I-A) opponent, Hawaii, in its opener.

Fort Hays State at Colorado Mines

* The game: Noon Saturday, Brooks Field (4,000 capacity), Golden.

* The records: Fort Hays State is 1-0; Mines is 0-1.

* Scouting report: The Orediggers committed three turnovers in a weather-shortened 27-3 loss at Washburn on Aug. 28. Fort Hays State opened with a win against New Mexico Highlands and beat Mines 34-10 last year.

Oklahoma Panhandle State at CSU-Pueblo

* The game: 7 p.m. Saturday, Neta and Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl (7,000 capacity), Pueblo.

* The records: Oklahoma Panhandle State is 0-1; opener for CSU-Pueblo.

* Scouting report: College football returns to Pueblo for the first time in 24 years with the rebirth of the CSU-Pueblo program. The ThunderWolves might have picked their first opponent shrewdly, given Oklahoma Panhandle State has lost 28 consecutive games.

Adams State at Southern Utah

* The game: 6 p.m. Saturday, Eccles Coliseum (8,500 capacity), Cedar City, Utah.

* The records: Adams State is 0-1; Southern Utah is 0-1.

* Scouting report: The Grizzlies gained only 116 yards in their opening 59-3 loss at Montana State. Southern Utah opened with a loss at Air Force.

Fort Lewis at Ouachita Baptist

* The game: 11 a.m. MDT, Saturday, A.U. Williams Field (5,600 capacity), Arkadelphia, Ark.

* The records: Fort Lewis is 1-0; opener for Ouachita Baptist.

* Scouting report: Joel Johnson rushed for 130 yards and Dave Nieman threw for three touchdowns in the Skyhawks' opening win.
