One of the men investigated for plotting to kill Sen. Barack Obama told friends while doing drugs at a local hotel that he wanted to use a "hi-powered rifle . . . using a high advantage point" to shoot Obama during his speech at Invesco Field.

The man also said "blacks don't belong in the White House," according to court documents.

Prosecutors chose not to charge any of the suspects with conspiracy to kill Obama, concluding that there never was a serious threat against the Illinois senator and that the comments were the rantings of people under the influence of methamphetamine.

The three suspects are Shawn Robert Adolf, 33; Tharin Robert Gartrell, 28; and Nathan Dwaine Johnson, 32.

The group first caught the attention of police when Aurora officers pulled Gartrell over around 2:30 a.m. Aug. 24.

Inside the rented truck he was driving, officers found two rifles with scopes, body armor, walkie talkies, wigs, a cell phone and equipment to make methamphetamine.

At a news conference last week, U.S. Attorney for Colorado Troy Eid called the men "a bunch of meth heads" and said there was no credible threat.

The three men face charges that include possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of body armor by a violent felon, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

They are all in custody.

This crew of gangsters looks very dangerous. I wonder how much longer before they are out gang banging again. Unfortunately if Obama is elected there will probably be numerous attempts on his life. This is the ugly reality of racism, which will always exist in one form or another no matter how many social layers and policies you try to smother it with.

This is old news. The news NOT being published here is that Democrats plotted kidnapings at the GOP convention.

I'm sure you'll be happy to provide a citation proving that these three addicts are Republicans. I mean, Democrats wouldn't make an asinine remark like that just for shock value, right?

But please, continue. There are few things more entertaining to us Libertarians than watching the R's and D's fight over the two worst presidential candidates this country has ever seen nominated.
