Then She Found Me

Rated: R, 100 minutes, $27.98, THINKFilm

Then She Found Me is a story about a woman in crisis - her husband leaves, her mother dies and her biological mother reappears - whose new boyfriend agrees to raise the child she had conceived with her ex. Chicago Tribune critic Sid Smith says Helen Hunt, who directed and starred in the movie, does a great job of keeping "the threads untangled and blends the everyday and the absurd with natural ease."

The film offers a mix of laughs, drama and elements of farce while exploring issues of adoption without slipping into silly comedy, Smith says.

Married Life

Rated: PG-13, 91 minutes, $28.96, Sony Pictures

Set in 1949, Married Life tells the story of a businessman who has found happiness with a younger woman and wants to kill his wife to save her the pain of a breakup.

Philadelphia Inquirer critic Steven Rea describes Married Life as a melodrama about infidelity and murder with noirish touches, whose elements don't quite come together. But San Francisco Chronicle critic Mick LaSalle said it combines suspense, good acting and good writing in a different and arresting style.
