A Littleton soccer coach was arrested Friday and charged with sexually assaulting one of his female players.
Stephen Martin Myers, 45, was being held Monday on $250,000 bail at the Jefferson County Jail. He was advised Monday of the charges: one count of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust and one count of kidnapping. His next court date is Thursday.
Littleton police did not release details about the case, other than it involved Myers and a 13-year-old girl he was coaching.
Myers was charged with kidnapping not because he abducted the girl, but "that he potentially concealed her whereabouts from her parents," said Lt. Mike Broadhead, spokesman for Littleton police.
Myers was a coach with a nonprofit soccer club in Littleton.
He was suspended without pay Monday after news of his arrest was made known.
The club has 4,000 youth players, ranging in age from 4 to 18. Myers only coached the older players.

What is wrong with people to accost and molest children.
These guys need to go to nice secure facilities.
Where they have no contact with children and therefore can no longer harm them.
I am sick of seeing this in the news and wish we could chemically castrate them for the rest of their lives.
This is so no child will never have to worry about these guys sick disgusting behavior.
These weirdo sicko perverts don't care about the harm they cause children.
These children will never recover and will remember this sick person robbing them of their trust for the rest of their life.

This is scary! My little sister is only 10 years old and she plays many sports and knowing this could happen to her is terrifying. It's sick and wrong and I think they should be locked up FOREVER! I also play sports and it's the worst thing not being able to trust your coach but it has to be even worse having to fear them in that way.

What if he didn't do it? It said he was "charged"... not "guilty". Wait for the facts before you start pulling out the torches and pitchforks.
If he's guilty then he needs to be punished with jail time or whatever, but until the facts come out, isn't he "innocent until proven guilty"?

If this man is guilty or not is beside the point. This type of terrible incident does occur. Parents need to be active in their kids lives and that includes sports, arts, school and any other activity where another adult is involved. Make sure to get face time with your kids coach, instructor, whatever. If they know you are watching that adds a layer of protection for your child.
There are plenty of fine people out there who like kids and do a great job with them. I hope the stories of a few dirtbags will not smuge their service.

kmeissner: There is a lot more to the story then RMN is saying.

the girl, but "that he potentially concealed her whereabouts from her parents," said Lt. Mike Broadhead, spokesman for Littleton police.
9news had more on the story. He had this 13 year old girl all night. He called her parents to tell them she was alright, when the police got on the phone, he hung up on them and wouldn't return phone calls. He turns himself in the next day and the girl shows up at a store around the same time.
What a WACO this man is!! His next date hopefully will be with Dexter in Cellblock A...and will last for a lifetime.
I can not believe how sick some men are....He makes all male coaches look bad.

More of the story. Looks like this was an on-going affair.
He's still a pedophile.... but I don't think he kidnapped anyone.
