Hank Williams Jr. joining Palin for Colorado trip

Gov. Sarah Palin will be joined in Colorado on Monday by country music singer Hank Williams Jr., who has retooled his classic "Family Tradition" into an ode to Palin and Sen. John McCain.

Williams Jr. has been performing at campaign events recently, singing the national anthem and then firing up the crowd with the new version of his song, "McCain-Palin Tradition."

In the original, Williams Jr. took on critics who compared him to his father. The chorus included the lyrics "Why do you drink?" and "Why do you roll smoke?"

The new lyrics take on the "left-wing liberal media" and Democrats, with veiled references to Sen. Barack Obama.

The chorus now includes the lines "John and Sarah tell ya just what they think, and they're not gonna blink" and "Why do you hunt? John, why do you fish?"

Palin will be in Colorado Springs at 8 a.m. Monday, followed by a noon stop in Loveland and a 6 p.m. event in Grand Junction.

Free tickets are required for the Colorado Springs and Loveland events.

For the Colorado Springs event, tickets may be picked up at 6334 S. Racine Circle in Centennial, 4525 Northpark Drive in Colorado Springs, 710 S. Tejon St. in Colorado Springs or 830 N. Main St. in Pueblo.

For the Loveland event, tickets may be picked up at the Centennial headquarters or at 826 Ninth St. in Greeley, 1730 S. College Ave. in Fort Collins, 325 Main St. in Loveland or 2200 E. 104th Ave. in Thornton.

    again I listened to Hank sing and I may not agree with the original lyrics, however I sure do agree with the new. Hank Williams is so talented. I,m amazed he does not back down from the Liberals. John Mccain and Sarah may not win but she sure looks better than Hillary.Hillary wears pants all the time because her legs look like tree stumps. Sarah is gorgeous and is so plain and we like her husband the first Dude.
