Maine Black Bears continue season warm-ups, HKC

FREDERICTON, New Brunswick (AP) _ The Maine Black Bears hockey team stepped up its pre-season preparations this weekend.
On Saturday night in Fredericton, New Brunswick won a shootout after the two teams had tied 6-6. Maine had bested New Brunswick 5-4 on Friday night.
The Black Bears open the 2008-09 regular season when they travel to Fairbanks, Alaska on Friday to play in the Brice Alaska Goal Rush.
Maine opens up against Alaska Anchorage.
