Regional scene: Brown, Williams on move to KEPN-AM

Denver radio veterans Irv Brown and Joe Williams will move to ESPN Radio 1600 (KEPN-AM) from FM Sportsradio 104.3 The Fan (KKFN-FM), starting Oct. 20.
Their program - The Irv and Joe Show - will be heard weekdays from 2-5 p.m. on their new station, according to station owner Lincoln Financial Media Company of Colorado.
The longtime broadcast partners will continue to be heard on KKFN-FM through Oct. 17.
RAMS PREVAIL Jaime Strauss produced 15 kills to power the 13th-ranked Colorado State volleyball team (15-1, 5-0 Mountain West) to a 25-20, 25-17, 16-25, 25-11 home win Thursday against Texas Christian (14-5, 3-3).
* Jessica Howe had 22 kills to lead Regis University (9-8, 5-4 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) to a 27-25, 25-23, 19-25, 22-25, 15-8 home win against Western State (4-13, 3-6).
* Alea Wildman had 17 kills to guide CSU-Pueblo (3-13, 1-7 RMAC) to a 23-25, 25-22, 25-15, 16-25, 15-10 win against Colorado Christian (5-13, 1-8) in Lakewood.
SHERLOCK DOWN UNDER University of Denver golfer Stephanie Sherlock shot a two-round 148 at the Women's World Amateur Team Championships at Grange Golf Club in Adelaide, Australia.
Canadian team member Sherlock is tied with five other players for 20th place after Thursday's second round.
* The DU women's golf team is ranked ninth in Golfweek magazine's rankings for NCAA Division I teams.
The University of Colorado is ranked 31st and Colorado State is ranked 44th.
The CSU men's team is ranked 27th and the CU men's team is ranked 30th.
* CU senior Derek Tolan and Buffaloes freshman Emily Childs were named the golfers of the month for September by the Big 12 Conference.
BROWN HONORED Colorado College sophomore forward Tiffany Brown was named the women's soccer co-offensive player of the week by Conference USA.
EAGLES CRUISE Riley Nelson scored two goals to lead the Central Hockey League's Colorado Eagles to a 6-3 exhibition victory Wednesday night against the Rocky Mountain Rage in Loveland. The game raised $100,000 for injured former Eagles player Les Borsheim.
GOLDEN PARTY Beijing Paralympic gold medalists and U.S. wheelchair rugby team members Jason Regier and Chance Sumner will be feted at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Irish Rover Pub, 54 S. Broadway.
Regier and Sumner are members of the Denver Harlequins wheelchair rugby team. A $5 donation at the door is suggested to support the team.
