Some people watching the Fox 31 broadcast Sunday of the Denver Broncos-Tampa Bay Buccaneers game found themselves temporarily in the dark when a lightning strike at Lookout Mountain knocked out the station's coverage.
"We took a direct hit," said Dennis Leonard, the station's general manager. "It knocked out both our analog and digital transmitters."
The lightning hit at 2:17 p.m., and full power was restored about 3:15 p.m., he said. Comcast cable customers were able to watch in the meantime.
Leonard said he got at least 100 calls from Broncos fans wanting to know what had happened. "Once people understood it was out of our control, they were so incredibly polite," he said.

It's too bad it didn't go out in the 4th Qtr. when the Broncos went with their 38 defense. That's when they rush 3 linemen and drop 8 back to watch the other team catch a pass.
