Four years after the rape of a 12-year-old shocked Aurora residents, police said they have caught their final suspect in the attack.
Investigators from Colorado were working to put the man's picture on the TV show America's Most Wanted when they learned that he had been arrested recently in North Carolina.
Domingo Lopez-Avaloy, 24, was arrested early Thursday at his apartment in Charlotte, said Bob Friel, Aurora police spokesman.
Lopez-Avaloy was being held at the Mecklenburg County Jail, awaiting extradition to Colorado.
He was one of four men charged in the attack on the 12-year-old at the Heatherwood Apartments in Aurora on Aug. 7, 2004.
One was sentenced to a year in prison, one was acquitted, and the third is serving a life term.

I sure wish we had an automatic "just cut his thing off" policy for cases like this.

Peanut, the reason we don't, is because the legal system isn't perfect. Here and there, you'd cut somebody who turned out to be innocent.

How can there be such a disparity in the sentences?
So this girls life is destroyed at 12-years old and one guy gets 1-year and another gets acquitted. So basically 2 of the 4 guys are on the streets right now.
I wish the RMN would run the original story (complete with pictures of the two guys on the streets).

Yes they may be free but if karma has anything to do with it they won't bother us for to much longer.
But we do need to deport this scum from our lives for good.
