Wolf Creek ski village put on hold by Forest Service

An environmental review of a proposed village near Wolf Creek ski area is on hold because billionaire developer Red McCombs has not submitted his revised plans for the project to the U.S. Forest Service.
The agency learned last month that developers significantly altered their proposal after its initial approval. But no new information has been filed to reflect the changes.
The delay is the latest blow to a development that has been in the works for years. The initial concept involved a $1 billion village capable of housing as many as 10,000 people on private land next to the rustic and remote ski area.
