A dense blanket of freezing fog has lifted in metro Denver, leaving behind sunny skies and prospects for a nice day.
Commuters from Fort Collins south to Thornton and along Monument Hill had a tough time finding their way to work earlier this morning.
Today's high should reach the low 50s, say National Weather Service meteorologists.
Look for a nice weekend in metro Denver, with a high near 60 on Saturday under sunny skies.
Sunday also will be sunny but not as warm, topping out at 53.
Monday should reach 55, warmer than usual for this time of year, and Tuesday will be glorious with a high of 61.
Wednesday will be mostly sunny with a high of 57.
Thanksgiving also will be sunny with a high of 51.
The high country isn't expecting much snow over the next few days, but today will be quite windy, with gusts of more than 50 mph expected for the Granby area.
Highs should be in the low to mid-40s in mountain towns today under mostly sunny skies.
Lows will be in the teens.
Saturday should warm up to the lower 50s, but Sunday won't get past the mid-40s.
Aspen will be colder than that – highs of 41 today and Saturday, then highs in the 30s.
The next decent chance for snow across the high country will be Thanksgiving Day when the high likely won't get out of the 30s.
The Western Slope will be something of a broken record – musically, not meteorologically – with highs in the mid-50s expected in Grand Junction from today through Wednesday, with little chance of precipitation.
Thanksgiving will be just a bit chillier in Grand Junction, with a high of 49.
Sterling on the eastern Plains will be a couple degrees cooler than Denver, but otherwise experience similar weather, over the next few days.
