The sale rack: School holds international crafts event

Any booming you hear from Thunderhead High School today has nothing to do with storms or even Wildcats sporting events.
Instead, the sounds will be emanating from the school's lunchroom, which will transform into a market-like fair from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Music, contests, international cuisine and gifts from around the world will be part of the school's first International Fine Crafts Benefit.
The students, who enlisted the help of many of the school's clubs for the event, hope to raise $10,000 for charity.
Fair-goers can shop and take part in a silent auction, and kids can craft cards for Iraqi soldiers, join in on a cakewalk or enter to win an iPod. 1991 Wildcat Reserve Parkway, 720-935-0211
For more charity-related shopping, visit May's for Community Shopping Day today. Purchase a $10 ticket from any register at May's Cherry Creek or Park Meadows stores to benefit one of 50 charities.
The money goes directly to the charity, and you receive: 10 percent to 20 percent off on almost every purchase you make today, and $10 off one purchase of $25 or more. You also can be entered in a $500 shopping-spree giveaway and enjoy music, refreshments and other events. maces.com/events
