The Fray is coming back to play a small gig, but getting tickets won't be easy. The June 6 date at the Gothic Theatre will make tickets available only to fans who preorder the deluxe version of the band's new album, The Fray, through TheFray.net. They'll be given a code that offers a chance (but no guarantee) to buy two of the $27.50 tickets in a presale Dec. 3-5. If it doesn't sell out, the rest of the tickets would go on sale to the general public at some point.
That's not the only big band going inside at the Gothic. Snow Patrol, which last played Red Rocks, will do a show Dec. 7 with no opening act. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, $25 (Ticketmaster). Other shows on sale:
* PARAMOUNT THEATRE - John Legend comes back to town on Jan. 8 (unfortunately, without Corinne Bailey Rae this time), with tickets on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, $36-$66. Daniel Tosh plays Feb. 21, with tickets on sale at 10 a.m. today, $28.50 to $30. (TicketHorse).
* FILLMORE AUDITORIUM - Galactic plays Feb. 14 along with JJ Grey and Mofro, with tickets on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, $26 (Ticketmaster).
* OGDEN THEATRE - Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. today for Andrew Bird, Feb. 26, $25 (Ticketmaster).
* BLUEBIRD THEATER - On sale at 10 a.m. today are William Topley, Dec. 21, $35; Meat Puppets, Jan. 24, $16; and North Mississippi Allstars, Jan. 30 and 31, $22.50. At 10 a.m. Saturday tickets are on sale for Brett Dennen, April 3, $18.50 (Ticketmaster).
RUMORS AND HEARSAY: Still a slowdown in the concert business, with few tours being announced for next year.
