AIR FORCE ACADEMY The Air Force Academy and hockey coach Frank Serratore have agreed on a new five-year contract that would run through the 2012-13 season, athletic department director Dr. Hans Mueh announced Thursday.
Details of the contract still are being worked out.
Serratore has led the Falcons to back-to-back Atlantic Hockey Association championships and NCAA berths. The Falcons are 10-0 so far this season and ranked 12th in both polls, the highest ranking in school history.
Serratore, currently in his 12th season at Air Force, is the winningest coach in academy history with a 180-201-30 record. The Falcons were 19-16-5 and 21-12-6 mark in the past two seasons. The 21 wins are the most Division I wins in school history.
Air Force plays host to Sacred Heart this weekend. Friday’s faceoff is at 7:05 p.m., and Saturday’s game is at 7:35 p.m.
