Scene stealer
Even a make-believe psychic couldn't spot the scam when actor/prankster Sacha Baron Cohen disrupted a scene for Medium involving Patricia Arquette, who stars as psychic Allison DuBois in the NBC drama. After an unruly extra was ejected by security it became clear it was Cohen in the guise of outrageous fashion reporter Bruno. Before the Nov. 7 invasion in Los Angeles, Cohen had been shooting other "crash" footage for his new film, a follow-up to his comedy hit Borat.
Obama wins again
25.1 million viewers tuned in to CBS' 60 Minutes, on Sunday. The draw? An interview with President-elect Barack Obama. In second place: NBC Sunday Night Football: Dallas at Washington, with 19.27 million viewers. Third was last week's CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, with 19.05 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research.
Chatter
"Wheel and Jeopardy! have now transcended what we traditionally call programming. They are now a part of people's lifestyle."
Harry Friedman, executive producer of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!, telling the Associated Press that starting in January, any of the 9.5 million viewers who have cell phones can compete with the three onstage contestants while viewing the Jeopardy! broadcast.
True hit
HBO's True Blood - about vampires, telepathic women and shape-shifters populating a small Louisiana Town - has steadily increased in stature to become the cable network's most popular series since The Sopranos and Sex and the City. The show, based on the series of novels written by Charlaine Harris, has increased its Sunday night viewership by 66 percent since its debut in September. Its season finale is Sunday.
