"I'd wait for our quarterly report before I'd do that. But I'd be definitely anxious to see the quarterly report."
George Karl, Nuggets coach, on whether the Nuggets, if they were a stock, would be a good buy.
If Nuggets center Nene doesn't make the All-Star Game, he won't complain. Nene is set to marry Lauren Prothe, of Fort Collins, on Valentine's Day, the day before the All-Star Game in Phoenix.
Nene isn't listed on the All-Star ballot but could be named a reserve.
"I don't need to be thinking about that," Nene said. "This All-Star time, I'm going to be thinking about my wedding."
RETURN TARGETED
Nuggets forward Chris Andersen, out since suffering a broken rib Nov. 9, is targeting a Nov. 30 return against Houston.
Andersen was ruled out two to three weeks. But he said his earliest possible return is after three.
"They want me to take it easy," Andersen said. "They want to make sure it heals properly."
WANTED WOLF
Karl might have named Joe Wolf an assistant had he been available when Mike Dunlap and Doug Moe left during the offseason. Wolf, the Colorado 14ers coach the past two seasons, already had been named a Bucks assistant.
"There was a good possibility he would have been on our staff if . . . I knew (earlier) Dunlap and Doug were going to leave," Karl said. "He would have been on the top of my list."
Wolf, like Karl, a North Carolina graduate, said he's in a "good situation" and said his 14ers stint was "invaluable."
ETC.: Nuggets forward Renaldo Balkman suffered a sprained right ankle in the second quarter and was lost for the game early in the fourth. He's questionable for tonight's game at San Antonio. . . . Karl said he likes the job the
defensive-oriented Jones is doing and plans to keep him in the starting lineup long term. . . . The Nuggets shot 50.7 percent after shooting 33.7 percent Sunday against Minnesota.
