ACLU: Police staged confrontation with each other during DNC

An undercover detective monitoring protesters during a confrontation with police during the Democratic National Convention was hit with pepper spray when he decided to struggle with a commander so his cover wouldn't be blown, the American Civil Liberties Union says.
The ACLU wrote a letter Thursday to Denver's Office of the Independent Monitor, requesting an internal investigation about whether the conduct of the detective and other undercover officers heightened "a tense situation" and made "control efforts more difficult and dangerous."
The confrontation occurred at 15th Street between Court and Cleveland places in Denver on Aug. 25.
Taylor Pendergrass, staff attorney for the state ACLU, cited a use-of-force report from a Jefferson County sheriff's sergeant about the confrontation.
Deputies from the sheriff's response team were assisting a Denver police commander who was trying to remove undercover detectives from the crowd of protesters, according to the report.
In order not to be recognized as undercover cops, some detectives put up a struggle with one of the commanders.
A deputy, Brian Shousse, thought the commander was being attacked and used pepper spray on the undercover officer, the sergeant wrote.

Sometimes, you're the windshield; sometimes, your the bug. I'd say mr. undercover was the bug in this case.

More likely the cops put on this show in the hopes that the protesters would come to the aid of the undercover officer then the police would have had justification to use force to put a stop to these demonstrators who think they have a right to free speech during a political event.

Why isn't the ACLU fighting for the detective who got hit with the pepper spray?
Does the ACLU also blame the sting operations for creating sex offenders?

Boy this was dumb. Secret spies in the crowd not wanting to be called out by their fellow law officers? Maybe there was a cute little braless protester hippy chick whom the super-secret-spy detective hoped to personally infiltrate, for an inside perspective.

Sheep,
Heidi,
Men can be a bit of whiners. But than we toughen up and go buy a Ford (after trading in our economical Daewoo's I mean!)
Butt Seriousily here, the ACLU is one of the biggest double standard bearers of the liberal left. Examples: Schools that invite local church leaders in to help with biblical theology courses are taken to court and publically smeared mercilessily.
Local, city senates are ridiculed publically under the "seperation of church and state" for inviting a public prayer before sessions. Yet................
Heaven forbit any form, imagined or real, of the Christian denomination materialize in school in any capacity. THE ACLU is all over that like flies on sh*t!
But...they are very defensive of the rights of Imam's to invade schools and indoctrine non-Muslim students into the Islamic theology. They complain that it's only fair. After all, the books show 'seperation of church**" but say absolutely nothing whatsoever about "Mosque."
So very bias indeed.
I.

One 'offend' counts for three 'defends', plus there's an additional penalty when the 'your momma factor' is applied, so I think you're still on the minus side Heidi.

And by the way, your and sheepherder's Daewoo comments are offensive to the Daewoovians who make them. I recommend that the RMN institute Remedial Blogger Sensitivity Training for the both of you.
