Aaron Schlussler, 27, said he voted for Barack Obama today because he wants America to win back the world's respect.
KEN CARYL MIDDLE SCHOOL IN SOUTHERN JEFFERSON COUNTY -- Aaron Schlussler wants a president who will restore America's image to the world and that's why he voted for Barrack Obama, he said.
"The world-view of America was bad enough before the Bush administration," Schlussler, 27, who works in retail, said a few moments after voting in this largely Republican area of Jefferson County. "Now, with the quagmire of Iraq and everything else, it doesn't seem like anyone has any respect for us."
Schlussler was a delegate for Hillary Clinton but happily boarded the Obama bandwagon. "I like his views on economics and health care," he said. "McCain's health care plan is just a joke -- freeze spending, then give everyone $5,000, then tax that $5,000."
McCain never had a chance in this lifelong Democrat's playbook. "The founding fathers gave us a government where we weren't supposed to have a super powerful person as president," he said. But George W. Bush tried, Schlussler complained. "Absolute power corrupts absolutely."

Why do Americans constantly feel they need to grovel for "the World's respect"?

Can this guy use any more cliches? I think every word out of his moronic mouth is a bumper sticker slogan. Real deep thinker here.
