The National Weather Service is warning of "potentially a very dangerous situation" in northeast Colorado through tonight, with possible further tornadoes, hail up to 1 inch in diameter, and very heavy rain. Gusts could reach 45 mph.

People are urged to pay attention to the media for reports of specific tornado sightings and warnings.

A tornado watch is already in place for the entire section of Colorado northeast of Castle Rock and Limon, through 8 p.m.

Thunderstorms are possible from the Front Range foothills and cities across the northeast plains. The most severe storms are now expected east of a line from Fort Morgan to Byers to Limon.

Parts of Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Nebraska are under the same warning.

And this weather may not stop soon. The Weather Service is predicting isolated thunderstorms, some severe, across northeastern Colorado through next Sunday, especially east of line from Greeley to Limon through Sunday.

The thunderstorms could move closer to the Front Range cities and foothills early next week.
