Lakewood man gets 48 years in attempted murder

A Lakewood man was sentenced to 48 years in prison today for the attempted murder of three men at the Cafe Prague in Morrison last March.
Aaron Allen Fain fired 10 rounds into the upscale restaurant March 10, 2007, after owner Tomas Stibral, who was tending bar, asked him to leave because he was drunk and belligerent.
Fain was convicted of three counts of attempted first-degree murder by a Jefferson County jury.
Fain went to the restaurant after drinking and fighting with his girlfriend earlier that evening.
After the owner asked him to leave because of his behavior, Fain returned home where he had another fight with his girlfriend. He pulled out a 9 mm handgun and returned to downtown Morrison where he parked in front of the restaurant.
After asking whether the restaurant was still open and told it was not, Fain went back to his car, drove a few feet and then opened fire on Stibral, Milan Sildo and Roman Jevicky, who were standing outside.
The three dove to the ground when the barrage of gunfire began and were not injured.
Fain drove off and was arrested for traveling the wrong way on Highway 285. He fled to Mexico after posting bond during his criminal case. He was arrested in Phoenix after he returned to the United States.
Fain testified that he had no memory of the events that night. However, another witness testified that after the shooting he videotaped a statement to serve as his will.
In the tape, Fain said, the bartender "deserved it."

nobodyman - i disagree with you that his girlfriend 'pushed' him into committing a violent act; i think this man made his own decision and should be responsible for his own actions. It seems that maybe this man has allowed others to manipulate him throughout his life and he may have felt powerless; however, maybe you think the same way - that if someone doesn't agree with you - then your behavior was their fault - i don't buy it.

We have poverty, crime, gangs, teenage pregnancy and on and on. I am offended when illegals come here and compound the problems.
I've had some bad run-ins with illegals, in fact last year I was in the paper because of some illegals.
So if I don't comment on these American crimes it's because it's America's problem to handle.
I am much tougher when it comes to illegal crime because they are an unwelcome burden, without rights to anything here yet they take take take.
They should let him go back to Mexico-let them have some of our lowlife for a change.

I've been in the US most of my life and have never experienced bigotry, UNTIL recently.
My last name is hispanic and somebody assumed I was Mexican and was concerned with doing business with a Mexican construction company because they oppose illegals and don't want illegals building their home.
I mentioned I'm Cuban and all was good. Then when they met me in person and saw a tall white guy they visibly relaxed.
I don't blame Americans for that. Illeglas have caused too much crime and have hurt our country so deeply that Americans are becoming leary of dealing with any Mexican and maybe even any hispanic.
I will freely admit that I have become very tough about who I let onto my sites to work and I do make sure that I send letters out with checks letting subs know I won't tolerate illegals and if I find any on my site the employeer will not get any more work from me.
About 1/2 of my 27 crew members are of Mexican descent.
I can't fix the world but I can have a certain amount of control over my business.
