An Adams County man who downloaded at least 150 images of child pornography for one year has been sentenced to nine years in federal prison.
Robert Everett Gimer, 53, remained free on bond after his sentence last week in U.S district court in Denver until he reports to the Bureau of Prisons, the U.S. attorney's office and the FBI said Wednesday.
Gimer was indicted by a federal grand jury June 4, 2007, and he pleaded guilty in October to being in possession of child pornography, the FBI said.
During its investigation the FBI learned that Gimer had downloaded on his computer between 150 and 300 pornographic images of children between May 2004 and June 2005.
"Prosecutions, such as the Gimer case, sends a message to those who prey on our children that they cannot hide behind their computer," James Davis, the FBI's special agent in charge, said.

Wow, that's a pretty repulsive habit. Does this jerk have a family? Any kids of his own?
