A 34-year-old Windsor man has been arrested in the fatal hit-and-run of a woman walking across U.S. 287 early this morning.
Jeremy Raisch was identified as the driver of a black 1999 Nissan Pathfinder that was traveling northbound on 287 near Longmont about 1:22 a.m. when it struck Cerridwyn Ursula-Laujan, 19, of Boulder, according to the State Patrol.
Investigators are seeking the public's help in identifying the driver of a second vehicle that ran over the woman.
A good Samaritan stopped and tried to help Ursula-Lujan, said Cpl. Jeremy Miller of the State Patrol.
"He apparently saw her lying in the roadway, turned around to help her, at which point she was hit by another vehicle," Miller said.
Ursula-Lujan was airlifted to Denver Health Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
Raisch is being held at Boulder County jail on felony hit and run and misdemeanor failure to notify police of an accident.
Anyone with information is requested to contact the CSP at 303-239-4583.

Why do people always have to mention illegals in every storyline? This has nothing to do with that subject matter. It's about a poor girl getting ran over and the suspect fleeing the scene.

Why is it ok to alway bash the Hispanic, Mexican, Illegals or whatever you want to call them here on the posts? This story had nothing to do with an illegal. If we were to mention anything about blacks, jews, or any other people types, the comments would probably be scrubbed off the posts, or creat a big fight. Whats up RMN? Does the Rocky say it's ok to be racist towards the latin population? I'm so sick of the stereotype that any kind of trouble, or anyone with a spanish/mexican last name must be illegal and the cause of the problem. You people that always have something to say about illegals need to take a good look in the mirror. Maybe it's you that should take a hike out of this country. Racist, biggot a$$holes!

Kslayer, I too get sick to death of the immature idiots who troll this site to write offensive crap. While the internet brings many great things it also allows cowards to say the crap they think without getting fired, beat-up or de-friended (if you will). I try to use the psychology I use with my students and ignore them (while asking RMN to delete racist comments).
As for the story, I find it so sad that anyone would leave an injured person...karma is coming.

The really sad part is this girl was hit and then hit again and still made it to Denver Health before she passed. She suffered painfully. Very sad.

My statement is more against the aloof, technology viewin', makeup applyin', big SUV drivin', news paper readin', food eatin', cell phone yappin', tailgatin' idiots that don't pay attention to what is in the road ahead of them. This girl was struck twice. I have never seen such bad habits as what has emerged in the last 15 years. In Gernany, they don't put cup holders in their vehicles. They feel that eating in the car is a distraction from driving, and I agree.
Had nothing to day against your point. Why not publish that they think she was struck by a large metal object with wheels.

We all know that cowards are the ones who come on here and post all of their racist thoughts, because they can hide behind a name and a computer screen without anyone knowing their identity. Let me tell you that this is absolutely nothing compared what you see and hear in the southeast (where I grew up)
As for the real story here......if you feel that you hit anything with your car, you need to get out and check immediately. If this person knew they hit a person and didn't stop, karma will catch up with them. I would hate to have that conscience.

I have been reading your posts and felt complied to write this. I am the wife of the "Good Samaritan" who stopped. I am very proud for what he did. I can tell you that nationality played no part in his decision to put himself in harms way. This is a human being and no human should be left to die on the road like an animal. He is blaming himself for not being there even a few seconds earlier so he could save her. She was not much older than our own daughter. I would like to ask all of you to think about your wives, daughters, mothers do they deserve to die like this? Keep your illegal bull crap to yourselves.

Why in the world are you questionning her lawful status? What does that have to do with her being struck by a hit-and-run driver? The questions you have posed are ridiculous.

So the first idiot ran over her and drove off. A Good Samaritan sees her lying in the road and stops to help. Meanwhile a second car ran over her and kept going?? Am I reading this right? Not only do we have one callous person on the roads, we have two. How awful!
At least someone stopped to help her and instead of just leaving her there. I hope they catch all those involved.

The guy they arrested is named Jeremy Raisch.
Looks like ALL of the comments about illegals are irrelevant.
ProudWife, our country needs more people like you and your husband, who will care, and who will stop and try to help, no matter who it is that needs it.

You should all be ashamed of yourselves. I have never EVER in my entire life read an article in the paper regarding the loss of someone else's life and didn't feel compassion for that family. IT DOESN'T F**KING MATTER THAT HER LAST NAME IS LUJAN. Just to clear things up, she was born in the USA. She is an American. I would like to ask you what an "American" last name is supposed to be?
It is our friend who died and we would like to know the names and numbers of all those that think she deserved to die because of her last name. You are just hiding behind a screen name. You think that privacy gives you power. Not only are the people who hit her cowards, but so ARE YOU!
Just when we start to think that the world might not be that bad of a place after all (specifically regarding the person who stopped to help her) people like yourselves start posting comments regarding race and trying to weigh on a scale whether or not her life is important. She was someone's daughter, sister, niece, granddaughter, and friend. She is no more you lowsy excuse for a human being.
YOU ARE THE DECLINE OF THE WESTERN CIVILIZATION!

I am Kerrie's older brother Josh. I want to thank all of you for your heartfelt condolences. As for those who want to focus on Kerrie being out late at night and walking on a dark highway, please try and understand that in this world people make mistakes and sometimes there are severe consequences. My little sister made a big mistake being out late and walking where she was. I will spend the rest of my life wishing I could have somehow known what she was doing that night and could have somehow stopped her from being out there all alone. She used bad judgment and it caused her to be hit by a vehicle. At the point she was struck the first time the responsibility for bad decision making was transferred to Jeremy Raisch. He chose to leave my little sister crawling in the road like a wounded animal. He drove away into the night like a coward. I'm sure hitting Kerrie was an accident. Jeremy could have been the one to save my sister's life by stopping and helping her. Instead he left her unable to get off the road and thus susceptible for the second collision which proved fatal. Jeremy could have been Kerrie's saviour that night by instead chose to be her executioner.
I miss my baby sister. My family and I are trying to cope with the loss the best we can. Please respect her memory and refrain from commenting about her last name, etc. Not that it's relevant, but She was an American citizen, born in Albuquerque, NM. She was a fun loving, kind and energetic person that made everyone around her smile. She was intelligent and artistic. Like both her brothers, she loved music and movies. If you had ever gotten the chance to meet my sister, even once, you would know exactly what I mean. Her positive attitude towards everything was amazing and inspirational.
I want to thank Kerrie's friends for setting up the memorial on 287. My family and I have visited the site several times and have added more flowers.
If anyone out there has any information about the other driver. Please notify the Colorado State Patrol or send an e-mail to: littlesisterhelp@yahoo.com. Thank you.
