National Treasure: Book of Secrets

Story Tools

National Treasure: Book of Secrets

Rated: PG, 124 minutes, $29.99, Walt Disney Video

Grade: C+

This sequel to National Treasure is more elaborate and less fun than its predecessor, says Los Angeles Daily News critic Bob Strauss. This time around, Benjamin Franklin Gates (Nicolas Cage) is on a mission to clear the name of an ancestor implicated in President Lincoln's assassination. It's as simple as breaking into Buckingham Palace and the Oval Office, kidnapping the president and outdoing the conquistadors by finding the lost golden city of Cibola. "It's diverting enough and holds your interest without getting too exciting," Strauss says.

* Strange Wilderness: A lowbrow comedy about the staff of a third-rate TV nature show who decide to halt its ratings slide by finding Bigfoot.

* In stores next week: Rambo, Grace Is Gone, Cassandra's Dream
