Work was suspended Monday on cleanup efforts at Rocky Mountain Arsenal after a low level of lewisite, a blistering chemical, was detected at Lime Basins.
The Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge has been closed.
"This is a very low-level detection, and consistent with our plan, we expect to be back to work tomorrow after analyzing additional air monitoring samples," said U.S. Army Program Manager Charlie Scharmann.
Lewisite is a chemical weapon that was manufactured at the Arsenal during World War II but never used.
