COLFAX MARATHON

32 bands will be playing music along the course of Sunday's Colorado Colfax Marathon. Sports 4

330 police and safety officers from Aurora, Denver and Lakewood will be working along the course on race day.

5,000 bananas will be handed out to runners at the finish line, as well as 200,000 cups of water and Gatorade at the drink stations along the course.

.5 percent - or one-half of 1 percent of the U.S. population - will ever attempt to run a marathon.

ARIZONA COINS ROLL OFF THE PRESS

Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano and other state officials were in town Friday to stamp their state's first commemorative quarters. The coin is the third commemorative quarter issued by the Denver Mint this year and the 48th overall. The quarters are issued in order of statehood. The tails side of the coin shows a saguaro cactus in the foreground and the Grand Canyon. The images are joined by a banner with the date of Arizona's statehood - Feb. 14, 1912.

IN MEMORY

Gov. Ritter ordered flags be lowered to half-staff on state and federal buildings across the state Monday in observance of the funeral for Army Sgt. Isaac Palomarez, 26, of Loveland. Palomarez was killed May 9 in Afghanistan.
