Dynamite found near Boulder

BOULDER — A box potentially filled with 58-year-old dynamite was discovered Wednesday afternoon at the Left Hand Canyon home of a recently deceased woman.
Attorney Richard Lopez called authorities after finding the box that he thought was old dynamite in a shed on his client's property.
The property's owner, Francis Clark, 96, told Lopez before she died last week that she had dynamite on her land, sheriff's Cmdr. Phil West said. Lopez told deputies he found a box marked "high explosives" in an outbuilding while assessing her estate Wednesday morning.
Deputies found the wooden crate in the shed, and West said it was marked as containing 50 pounds of dynamite, manufactured by DuPont in October 1950.
