Little local impact expected after raid

A federal immigration raid at a kosher meatpacking plant in northeastern Iowa this week isn't expected to have a significant impact on the availability of kosher meat in the Denver area.
Following a one-day closure, the Agriprocessors Inc. plant in Potsville resumed operations Tuesday but with fewer shifts.
At least 390 people were reportedly arrested in the raid and hundreds more are being sought.
Jeff Auerbach, owner of wholesaler Auberbach's Kosher Foods in Commerce City, said the raid would have "no impact" on his company's kosher meat supplies.
Although Auerbach gets kosher beef and chicken from the Potsville plant, "We deal with other people also," he said.
Marcy Schreiber, owner of Denver's East Side Kosher Deli, said the raid "might" have an impact on her deli's supplies of kosher meat this week. But she expects any impact to fade by next week.
