After being named to the NBA’s All-Defensive First Team for the second year in a row, center Marcus Camby hopes he can make a bid for a three-peat while still wearing a Nuggets uniform.
As has been the case for the past few years, his name often is mentioned in discussions about whether the Nuggets need to shake up their roster in an attempt to win a first-round series.
"It hasn’t changed. This is definitely where I want to finish my career," Camby said in a telephone interview Monday. "I don’t think I did anything to warrant being traded. I just want to win, just like anybody else."
Camby also said he expects teammate Allen Iverson to return to Denver, rather than opt out of the final year of his contract.

It wouldn't be pretty and Denver management would risk a negative fan reaction with season tickets but the smart move is for the Nuggets to slap a new paint job on Marcus Camby and Allen Iverson, sell the two star's resumes and flip them for a profitable return.
There is no better time to move two gargantuan contracts and aging players, not only for the present but for the future on-court health of the franchise.
Both Camby and Iverson could and should bring quality value in return. Denver doesn't have to look for a Herschel Walker or Shaquille O-Neal-to-the-Heat-type booty, it just has to get starters in return and not get fleeced.
Saying goodbye to stars is anxiety producing and difficult but accepting reality and realizing that doing so could not only improve the team but save the franchise from a repeat of many losing seasons should make it more palatable.

I disagree. Camby is our best defender. AI leads the team. Melo isn't mature enough yet (although he should be) to lead the team. We need the players we have, they just need to play defense!
