Rosen's global warming editorial was contemptible

Mr. Rosen’s recent column on “Global Warming Hysteria” was contemptible. At best he was severely negligent regarding fact checking, and more likely he was an intentional purveyor of misinformation. The 2008 International Conference on Climate Change that he championed as proof of “growing”
skepticism in the scientific community was nothing of the sort. A quick search turns up that this was a conference sponsored by the Heartland Institute, a right wing think tank sponsored by companies such as ExxonMobil having a vested interest in tempering climate change concerns. Of the 500 or so participants, only 19 stepped forward as scientists for a photo op.
Sure, other scientists may have chosen not to step forward, but should we believe 481 did not? Especially if these are scientists “brave enough to stand athwart the politically fashionable global warming steamroller". The reality is that most in attendance were not scientists. Mr. Rosen knows this. He chooses to mislead the public for who knows what nefarious purposes. Such reckless abuse of column space should not be tolerated in a reputable newspaper. Regarding the Heartland Institute, their recent list of 500 scientists whose research contradicts man-made global warming included many scientists that believe the opposite and who are demanding their names be removed. This is not a reputable scientific organization, but rather a political organization with an agenda to undermine scientific consensus that could lead to new regulations.

Good job of shooting the messenger Mr. Trentler; an excellent straw man argument. What, you don't think those watermelons like Gore, Moore and the other lefties don't have a political bent behind their reasoning? Don't be absurd.
The hard science is that global temperatures are changing, have been changing for millenia and are not seriously affected by man-made gasses.
Why, for example, have global temperatures flattened for the last ten years when CO2 and other "global-warming gasses" increased? Because 1 volcano eruption dwarfs all industrial "global-warming" gas creation and there are thousands of volcanos.
Pull your head out of the lockbox and think for yourself for a moment.

Great post Timmy, Other ideas or reasons should not be "tolerated" in a "reputable" newspaper. The Rocky can only publish one side of the argument, even if it is bull. And since when did the Rocky become reputable?

Notice how people like Timothy Trentler of Boulder always accuse those that present an alternative to their man-made global warming "religion" are accused of being "right wing" or in the pockets of the "big oil" companies so therefore their opinions and assertions must be disqualified or at least discounted?
What Timothy and his ilk NEVER recognize is that we who think that the jury is still out on this "theory" think the same of their experts. "Experts" who feed at the public trough for their research grants, "experts" - like AlGore - who rake in millions of dollars to fund his propaganda tours and media blitzes and movies and such. The left has turned "man-made global warming" into an industry unto itself. It has become a religion and those of us that do not wish to worship at their altar are riduculed and accused of being stupid and uninformed. They are what they accuse the right of so often - dogmatic, closed minded, unwilling to accept alternative views, and damn near hysterical if you do not follow them and their "god".
