Barack Obama is a chameleon

This letter has not been edited

Thursday, May 8, 2008

Though not surprising news for a politician it does make one wonder, if elected president, what direction he may choose to lead our country in.

The Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. and President Ronald Reagan were two of this nations greatest leaders. Both were very different men but what they had in common was that people knew who they were, what they stood for and exactly what one could expect from them.

Each brought a different type of dish to America’s table. In both cases however you knew exactly what they were serving without having to take a taste.

Barack Obama on the other hand is a chameleon. Though he is far from being anti American or a racist it’s just that he is able to sit in a church for 20 years and listen to one. Few believe Mr. Obama is a pompous elite it’s just that he can so easily blend in with a room full of them in San Francisco.

Thus, when Barack brings a dish to the table you find your self pondering what type of casserole he might be serving. Bending slightly over you bring your nose closer to the aroma as it rises from the dish. Still not sure you place a spoonful on your plate. Mmmm it taste like chicken...ohhhh it’s rattlesnake!

The man is a chameleon. No one really knows what we are going to get.

Didn't a whole bunch of people stay at New Life in Co. Springs after Ted Haggard got caught having gay sex and doing drugs, all the while spewing hate about gays in his church?

Aren't there tons of Catholics who continue to sit in the pews despite the fact that their hierarchy covered up the molestation of children for decades?

Didn't Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell blame Americans for causing 9/11, yet people still watch Robertson's programs, donate money to their causes, etc.?

    It's called hypocrisy.

And speaking of elitist, how much money does McCain and his wife have? Way more than me - he must be an elitist! Doesn't he scoot around the country in a private jet? And why won't she release her tax returns - are they hiding something?

Tom, Reagan was an actor who played the part of a president very well. I voted for the man in his first term after the terrible run by Jimmy Carter. I voted for the Democratic candidate the second term because none of the things he said he was going to do to change this ever came to light. The deficit grew, gas prices continued to rise and taxes continued to increase, if I'm not mistaken 8 different times.

If your going to call Obama a "chameleon" then you have to label McCain the same. Here's a person that in 2000 had total disdain for conservatives and most of there ideals. Now in 2008 and starting in 2006 when he decided to run for president on the Republican ticket he's "changed his colors" and wants the right to believe, minus a couple of minor items, he's just as conservative as they are and that they can trust him with their conservative values. If elected we can thank God for that "fairytale".

Ronald Reagan is the most over-rated political hack ever. His views were diametrically apposed to that of Martin Luther King Jr..

His epitaph should've read "Here lies a war-mongering incompetent who sold arms to his enemies".

    Why?

"And speaking of elitist, how much money does McCain and his wife have? Way more than me - he must be an elitist!" - Butterfly

Elitism has very little to do with money. Need proof? The lack of intelligence and the inability of liberals to think clearly is astounding. They cling to their angst and anger because they are bitter about being kept out of the White House for eight years. See, now that is elitist.

Why were Theresa Heinz Kerry's tax retuns relevant in 2004?

The right was screaming that she did not release her returns.

But its OK for Cindy "steals-drugs-from-the-troops" Mccain to not release hers, right?

Because, as we all know, IOKIYAR.

and, by the way, if you own 8 houses.....sorry to say,but you're elite. Elitism and money go hand in hand, sorry to say. Because all those poor people really drive mercedes, don't they!

Elitism: the selectivity of the elite; especially : snobbery

Its not about money. Its about attitude. Driving a Mercedes does not make one an elitist.

As for Theresa Heinz Kerry, I could not care less about her tax returns. But, it is more relevant for those on the left because they are the ones who try to pass themselves off as being in touch with the "working class".

I have no idea why you are attacking Cindy McCain. I also have no idea what teenage "texting" crap you posted with IOKIYAR.

its very true that he is a chameleon. Obama says that many Americans can't afford health insurance. This is true. However, according to the WSJ, when 18 insurance mandates were presented to the illanois senate, Obama passed all of them which helped the cost go up. He also pledges that he won't "raise" taxes. However, he already admitted to wanting to raise the coporpate gains tax to 20% whick would affect those of us with pension and 401k plans.

I response to Konyok, Obama said in his debate 28% for "fairness". However, after doing his own research, he wants it to only 20%. Still, it's an increase in taxes. Something he said he wouldn't do. But how else would you pay for the programs he's proposing?

I know what elitism is. It's being better born than others. Just ask the British. It doesn't matter how much money you have, you can be a pauper and still be "better" than someone else (Buffet or gates) because you were born higher. That is why the stupid argument about Obama or McCain being "elitist" means nothing!!!!

So, you have no problem with the fact that he rounded up Japanese-Americans and put them in camps just because they were Japanese-Americans? What about all of his unconstitutional programs? What about his threat to the Supreme Court?

Your greatest president put American citizens in camps. How do you explain that?
