The Broncos reshuffled their front office Tuesday by clarifying job descriptions and hiring a new assistant general manager.

Jim Goodman will operate under a revised title of vice president of football operations/player personnel. In essence, Goodman is coach Mike Shanahan's right-hand man in player acquisition and talent evaluation.

Goodman already ran the college draft and oversaw the scouting department. He'll now manage the football-operations side on a daily basis.

The Broncos also added Brian Xanders as assistant general manager. Xanders spent the past 14 years with the Atlanta Falcons. He'll assist Mike Bluem on salary-cap issues, including long- and short-term strategic planning in that area.

Xanders will work alongside Jeff Goodman, also an assistant general manager, who oversees pro personnel and is among the team's top contract negotiators.

The Broncos also promoted Northeast-area scout Anthony Kelly to assistant coordinator of pro and college scouting.
