This individual is an obvious candidate for an Agricultural Trespass charge. Someone needs to notify Ritter's office so he can get the paperwork started. There's no doubt he won't be deported, and probably allowed to leave the state, assume another identity, commit crimes in other cities.

why would he be deported? where in this story does it say he is a) an immigrant or b) and illegal immigrant?

in fact, it starts with "A California man..."

you do know that people can have hispanic sounding names and still be Americans, right?

A California chedd transporting drugs to into our state. It's an outrage. These kind of stories dominate our news, everyday!! More, than likely he is illegal, or barely legal.

Quick, call the Mexican Consulate, so he can get legal help, after all they most likely helped the guy with a map and advice on how to enter this country! Two points for the dog! And his handler.

I thought cops had to have a warrent or something to search private property.

The police do not need a search warrant to "walk" a police dog around your car if it is on a public roadway. If the dog "hits", then a warrant, based on that probable cause, is obtained to search.

It's not stated, but the driver is an illegal alien.

And this just after watching No Country for Old Men again last night. Eight lbs. of meth? Good on the dog.
