Follow the money

Story Tools

Two questions all good Americans should be asking ourselves: First, who has been benefiting from Iraqi oil, and who brokered the negotiations? And second, who is bankrolling al-Qaida and other "insurgents?"

Weapons and manpower do not come cheap. (Especially if you buy them from Halliburton / KBR.) "Follow the money" is always a good policy if you want the truth.

tommy Bush is not running for president again so you can stop the Bush bashing.
why is halliburton/kbr so bad now? ole bubba gave them a no bid contract in the 90's and it was ok. Lady Bird johnson was a big stock owner in kbr. they are a company who are good at what they do but the only problems all the liberals have is that Dick was there ceo for a while, and took a big pay cut to be the vp. most libs go into pplitics so they can get a pay increase.

This letter makes no sense at all. Whats your real point Tommy?

"Follow the Money" IS always a good way to expose what fox news won't tell you...For instance, They haven't mentioned that Obama's Reverend Wright was in the Marines....Conservatives don't want Obama to derail the Gravy train we know as Iraq.....So they drone on,,,,and on....and on.

here is a money trail to look at
By Deborah Charles

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - With eight months to go before the U.S. presidential election, the candidates have raised almost $1 billion to fund their campaigns -- more than the size of the economies of several African countries.

The unusually long race for the White House -- which began in earnest more than a year ago -- has been a cash bonanza, especially for Democrats who are breaking all records.

Republicans lag behind but still rake in tens of millions and have time to make up ground in the money game between now and the November 4 national election.

damn those rich republicans.

I wish we did take Iraq's oil - then maybe I could afford to fill my gas tank. Look up the facts:
http://tonto.eia.doe.gov/dnav/pet/pet...
We get most of our oil from Canada, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria and Mexico. However, I have read that we have been giving millions of dollars to the Palestinians and training them too, which is incredibly stupid as they are fanatical terrorists. I do question what the President is doing to Israel.

Okay, I'll continue the Bush bashing: After two elections in which one of the greatest crooks of our generation NEIL BUSH wasn't ever seen in public endorsing his brother, George, I figure he was employed at Haliburton instead, giving them pointers on maximizing their revenues!!!

Errr, observer, you make as much sense as the conspiracy theorists who when faced with the fact they have zero proof for the conspiracy they are talking about answer that the coverup has worked.

What company besides Haliburton would you recommend be in Iraq?

Posted by Spencer on March 26, 2008 at 10:01 a.m. (Suggest removal)

I don't understand why Halliburton is doing food preparation. I thought the military did that on their own.

Posted by bropous on March 26, 2008 at 10:13 a.m. (Suggest removal)

Spencer, as far back as when I was at basic at Ft Knox in 1982-1983, private contractors were serving the food in the mess halls. Furthermore, when we recruits were doing KP, we were actually doing unpaid work for a private contractor. This arrangement went back to Carter, as Reagan's reforms had not trickled down yet. I guess the concept was to increase the amount of combat troops in a combat formation and decrease the logistical train.

It's nothing new. Halliburton just was a company better suited to fulfill the requirements.

As for Iraqi oil, it is the property of the Iraqis, not us. They just passed their petroleum resource sharing legislation, so the oil from Iraq should be increasing. Of course, terrorist attacks on Iraqi pipelines have had an effect as well.

However, the biggest problem with oil is not supply, it is with refining capacity, the expansion of which domestically is something the green freaks have fought tooth and nail.

Tommy Baby just wants to get his latest fit of Bush Derangement Syndrome out. al-Qaeda and the insurgents are receiving direct monetary and materiel support from Iran, Communist China, and Wahabbist jerks in Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries. With any luck, we are preparing to ffinally take Iran out of the picture militarily.

Unless the Dhimmis' constant attacks on a President who is trying to conduct a war have undermined this nation so badly we are unable to attack Iran, the true source and wellspring of terrorism.

The news is saying $30 million worth of Iraqi oil is being looted PER DAY. That certainly needs to be investigated.

Earl- maybe someday you'll understand that most of us don't consider Clinton to be a saint. Just because Clinton dealt with Halliburton/KBR doesn't mean it's alright for Bush to hand them money now. Got it?

Posted by Eagle5 on March 26, 2008 at 1:36 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Under Bush, yes I'm Bush-bashing since he deserves every second of that kind of stuff, we are bankrolling the terriorists and the war

Posted by Earl on March 26, 2008 at 1:53 p.m. (Suggest removal)

yep its the ole we can do it you cant. would you have rather given the contract to boxers hubby who couldnt handle the size of the job? liberals just have a problem with Halliburton and to prove it screamed loud when they opened an office in the middle east. hard to collect all the tax money made over there when its not taxable by the irs code.

yep I understand.

Posted by NotChasB on March 26, 2008 at 2:14 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Tommy

Halliburton is doing all of this? Especially bankrolling Al-Quaida and the terrorists. Very interesting conspiracy theory. Sounds like the Hillary Right Wing Conspiracy theory to us.

Thanks so much for the FYI.

Earl cheers on Halliburton's decision to take it's money over to the Middle East after overcharging us millions of dollars.

What an American!

I asked earlier but didn't see any recommendations yet. What company besides Haliburton would you recommend be in Iraq?

Posted by me2 on March 26, 2008 at 4:42 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Campaign money gets spent here, unlike oil money that goes abroad. Americans benefit from the dollars that go into tv, radio, newspapers etc.

Posted by popo on March 26, 2008 at 5:01 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Pearl,
Tommy never mentioned Bush....me thinks you are suffering from Clinton envy.

Posted by popo on March 26, 2008 at 5:03 p.m. (Suggest removal)

KW,
Anybody but a company with Cheney connections. Good enough?

Posted by KW on March 26, 2008 at 5:36 p.m. (Suggest removal)

What if there wasn't another company able to handle the size of operations needed in Iraq? Would be ok with Haliburton then?

Posted by popo on March 26, 2008 at 5:36 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Not a mention of Haliburton/KBRs Cayman Island connection either...not only do they fleece American taxpayers and profit from giving our troops contaminated water and substandard food, but they still get the green light from Cheney and Company to commit tax fraud on top of cheating our troops.

Great Americans....and good Republicans.

Support the troops, my sweet Liberal ass.

And good point Eagle5 What ever happened to Neil Bush? Did he ever stop beating his wife, stealing money and molesting children?

Every time we fill up an SUV, bin Laden and al Queda smile...
